For the past few months I have been working on something new, I’m making a 3 dimensional wall sculpture and then painting it as I do on my regular paintings. It takes about a month to do each one of these and so far none of them have been shown except to my Facebook fans. When I have enough of them I will put a gallery page on this site but I’m not ready yet.
To give you an idea of where I’m going, this is my first rough maquette. I did this from the drawing and used it to figure out the math and angles. Then I painted it to figure out the pallet. From there it was scaled from up from 10 inches to 30”x 40” and the fun began. It took 6 weeks start to finish.
Next week I will post a story about my first trip to Carrara . Stay tuned.
Look forward to seeing the progress.
Head over to my Facebook studio page highlighted above and dig down a little.
This one has been finished and there are a few progress photos over there.
