I looks as if the sketches I made when I was in MA this summer are going to be the source of several paintings and at least one 3D wall hanging.
There is an interesting process involved as I use the preliminary sketch to produce others in the same family and then go to color. If I like what happens I then consider going larger with the concept.
In this case I cut and primed a piece of 1/4 inch masonite that is 4’x5’, The color drawing was scaled up to size in charcoal and so far this is the result.
It’s not done yet. This is where the detail work comes in and depth is created.There will be small changes but I hope they add up to a piece that will jump off the wall.
