While working on the Sheffield series I sometimes walk away from the 5 foot paintings and play with something smaller. This one was based on an oil sketch I made several weeks ago. The progression away from the original was rather interesting and for a while I couldn’t figure out why I kept changing it.
When i finished the painting this morning it occurred to me that this is another of the San Pablo Senora paintings. The first one was completed sometime in 1995 and has remained in my private collection.
The use of geometry continued to develop in my work and the 2nd San Pablo showed up in 2010.
The thread that ties my work together remains unbroken,.
All wonderful, but San Pablo Senora #3 is positively gorgeous. Is she for sale?
She will be.The new show opens On October 27. Invitations go out on Monday and I’ll send you one.
