Abstract painting with a controlled 3D result.
After 50 years of carving marble and exotic hardwoods I had to give up sculpting as I knew it.
The marble sculpture that is still available is the end of it. I will carve no more and I miss it.
Since I have always considered myself a sculptor who paints it is only natural that my paintings included
a great deal of texture and the attempt to get as much 3 dimension as I could on a 2 dimensional plane.
Over recent years the concept of creating a wall sculpture and then treating it as a painting surface evolved to where you find me today.
I have spent the past year working on the new wall pieces.
They are complex and each one takes about a month to complete
I find the process challenging and satisfying.
These pieces add a third dimension to what you can hang on your wall.
